Glossary of Pre-Geometric Terms
Locked Vocabulary for the Ascent from CTS to Space
「言葉は意味を閉じ込める。逸脱は崩壊を招く。」
Words lock meaning. Deviation invites collapse.
How to Use This Glossary
Each term below is defined at its emergence stage. Using a term before its stage is a violation. Using a term with its everyday meaning (before Stage 6) is a violation.
Terms are grouped by the chapter in which they first become available.
Stage 1 Terms (Chapter 1.0)
CTS (Collapse Tension Substrate)
The pre-spatial domain in which collapse may occur. Not a medium, not a container, not a space. The minimal condition for anything to happen.
Permission
Logical admissibility of a collapse outcome. Not probability, not possibility in a space of options. A collapse outcome is permitted if it does not violate CTS constraints.
Collapse
The selection of one resolution from multiple admissible resolutions. Not movement, not change of position, not temporal evolution. Pure selection.
Tension
The coexistence of mutually incompatible permissions. Tension is what makes collapse necessary—without tension, nothing would need to resolve.
Stage 2 Terms (Chapter 2.0)
Difference
Non-equivalence of collapse outcomes. Two outcomes are different if they are not the same. No distance, no separation, no “space between” is implied.
Asymmetry
Operational distinguishability of different outcomes. Asymmetry means one outcome can be preferred over another by some criterion. Without asymmetry, difference would be meaningless.
Stage 3 Terms (Chapter 3.0)
Order
Logical dependency between collapses. “A before B” means A’s resolution constrains B’s permissions. Not temporal sequence, not spatial arrangement.
Direction
Consistent ordering across multiple collapses. When collapses consistently resolve in a particular order, that consistency is direction. Not pointing, not orientation, not spatial vector.
∇Φ (Intent Gradient)
The mathematical expression of collapse ordering tendency. Pre-spatially: the direction of preferred resolution. NOT a spatial gradient until Stage 6.
Stage 4 Terms (Chapter 4.0)
Memory
The influence of prior collapse outcomes on future collapse permissions. Not storage, not location-based retrieval. Causal depth across collapse sequence.
Return
Later collapse outcomes being influenced by earlier ones. Not spatial return, not going back to a place. Influence propagation that references prior states.
∇×F (Curl / Self-Reference)
Self-referential collapse structure. When collapse sequences “curl back” on themselves—when later states reference earlier states. NOT rotation until Stage 6.
Recursion
Collapse patterns that include themselves in their own permission structure. Self-referential collapse.
Stage 5 Terms (Chapter 5.0)
Locking
Self-reinforcing recursive alignment. A locked structure is one where each collapse makes subsequent collapses more likely to follow the same pattern. Dynamic stability, not rigidity.
Shell
A self-sustaining region of locked recursion. Not a surface, not a container, not an object. A pattern that maintains itself.
Boundary (∂S)
The limit of pattern influence. Where a shell’s locked recursion stops affecting collapse permissions. Not a geometric surface until Stage 6.
∇²Φ (Laplacian / Consistency)
Recursive consistency measure. When ∇²Φ = 0, the collapse structure is in equilibrium. NOT diffusion or spatial curvature until Stage 6.
Stability
Resistance to drift. A stable structure maintains its pattern across ongoing collapse. Not rigidity, not permanence—dynamic persistence.
Stage 6 Terms (Chapter 6.0)
Space
The capacity for multiple persistent recursive structures to coexist without mutual exclusion. Not substance, not emptiness, not background. A resolution of conflict.
Coexistence
Multiple locked structures persisting without destroying each other. The fundamental requirement that forces space to emerge.
Separation
The cost of maintaining distinct identities for coexisting structures. Separation is not distance—it is differentiation cost.
Distance
Remembered separation cost. When separation stabilizes, it becomes measurable as distance. Distance is not fundamental—it is inherited from recursive structure.
Location
A stabilized separation label. Where a structure “is” means how it is separated from other structures. Location is relational, not absolute.
Metric (gμν)
The record of recursive differentiation. How separation costs are organized and measured. Metrics emerge from locking patterns; they are not imposed.
Dimension
Independent modes of coexistence. Three spatial dimensions emerge because three independent separation modes are required for full coexistence resolution.
